About the Opportunity

We currently has multiple opportunities available for both Entry-level Meat Cutters and Skilled Meat Cutters to join our team in rural Manitoba near Winnipeg on a full-time basis.
As an Entry-level Meat Cutter, you will cut meat carefully as per instructions in order to meet customer specifications and ensure minimal waste. You will be required to identify meat cuts, address errors, and work as part of a team to meet or exceed production targets while keeping pace with a conveyor. This is a great opportunity for entry-level workers who are looking for stable, full-time work and opportunities for in-house training.
To be considered for this role, you will need good communication skills and will have the ability to understand basic commands in English. You will also possess:
The ability to follow directions, maintain production pace, and work under pressure when required
A commitment to punctuality
Knife skills developed through farming, hunting, fishing or previous work
Previous manufacturing/food production experience (asset)
As a Skilled Meat Cutter, you will expertly cut meat to specifications at a high-pace with minimal-to-no errors and coach junior meat cutters to improve efficiency and to keep pace with your work. Above all, you will foster a culture of performance, safety, respect, and satisfaction.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have previous meat cutting experience in a CFIA facility and be able to deconstruct an entire cattle carcass to specific specifications within a predetermined amount of time. You will also possess:
The ability to communicate with and coach junior staff, and to deal with management in professional manner
The ability to adhere to and help set production targets
A commitment to punctuality
Proficiency in English
Experience in a BRC facility (asset)
Previous supervisory experience (asset)
In order to be considered for either of these roles, you will need to be flexible and adaptable, have good manual dexterity, and have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs/27kgs.
